ECC: Care Technology
Care technology and daily living equipment may help you, or the person you're caring for, to stay independent for longer. There is a wide range of equipment that can help people with everyday tasks that may have become an issue because of disability, ill-health or due to changes as we grow older. Making physical changes to the home may also be considered to make it easier and safer to get around. This is a free service.
Referrals for Equipment can be made by social care professionals, health professionals and other professionals who work in healthcare or social services. The referral process generally requires a professional assessment to determine the individual’s needs and whether the care technology would be helpful in their specific situation.
If you're unsure who can make the referral for someone you know, the best place to start is by contacting the local Adult Social Care team on 0345 603 7630 or adultsocialcareconnect@essex.gov.uk
