The Haven Project
The Haven Project is dedicated to the support and treatment of people with a Personality Disorder or c-PTSD diagnosis including as an experience of Complex Trauma, or who are in the process of diagnosis, who live in Essex and surrounding areas. The Haven Project provides recovery groups, therapeutic 1:1 support and crisis prevention telephone calls and outreach, as well as support and guidance for families and partners of those affected.
The Haven Project is able to provide support and therapy across all diagnoses, and also if the person is awaiting diagnosis, is in the process of diagnosis, or indeed if they believe they have personality issues, meaning that we can work fluidly across the different streams, and do not have to work to a label, which is often a restriction within the NHS itself.
The Haven Project’s psycho-social model features a unique combination of elements: recovery programmes, crisis prevention work, therapeutic support, and community activities, all underpinned by the active and systematic involvement of the clients in all aspects of the project’s life, therefore also utilising lived experience. This input gives our clients an element of control over the recovery process and allows them to trust the project at a deeper level, helping them by providing a lifeline for clients.
We are also able to offer training to medical professionals and other organisations to assist understanding of Personality Disorders, Complex Trauma and c-PTSD to help alleviate misunderstandings of clients struggling with coping with these issues coming into contact with them, and how to best work with them.
