At St Helena - Specialist Care & Support, we offer more than just day-to-day home care. Our team provides a range of specialist services designed to help people stay safe, well, and supported in their own homes—especially during times of change or crisis. These services are funded by the North East Essex Integrated Care Board and are free of charge. Referrals are made by hospitals or community health teams.

Here’s a little more about how we can help:
- Urgent Community Response Service. If you’re at risk of going into hospital, we can provide up to 48 hours of care at home to help avoid that.
- POPs and Body Brace Service. If you’ve had a short hospital stay or need extra support to stay safe at home, we can help. This service offers up to six weeks of care and support while we work with you to assess your needs and plan for what comes next.
- Night Owls. Our Night Owls team is on the road from 11pm to 7am, offering support and peace of mind to people in their own homes throughout the night.
- End-of-Life Care at Home. We work hand in hand with St Helena Hospice to provide care and support to people who are approaching the end of life and wish to remain at home. This care is always delivered with dignity, compassion, and respect.

We also offer a range of paid services including: Personal care, mealtime support, medication support, light housekeeping, practical help, mobility support, companionship. These services are charged for but as part of a charity, any surplus we make goes straight back into St Helena Hospice. For further details call us on 01206646822.
