AbilityNet offers free digital skills training for people aged 55 and over, and disabled adults aged 18 and over, across Essex. Sessions are delivered at home or in a local venue by a DBS-checked trainer, covering topics like smartphone use, staying safe online, and managing your health digitally. AbilityNet is a UK charity that has been helping older and disabled people get the most from technology for over 25 years. Our free digital skills service in Essex is funded through a partnership with BT Group and is delivered by a local, DBS-checked trainer who will work with you at your own pace, in your own home or at a nearby community venue.

 Sessions are built around your needs. Popular topics include: Getting to know your smartphone or tablet; Staying safer online; Getting started with email; Using social media, such as Facebook; Watching TV and entertainment online; Accessing public services, including Gov.UK; Making video calls; Managing your health online and Banking online.

Group sessions We are also happy to bring sessions to community groups, care homes, libraries, GP surgeries and other local organisations. Group training can be tailored to suit your members, and there is no charge.

The service is open to anyone aged 55 and over, or disabled adults aged 18 and over, living in Essex.
