We can give you information, guidance, and advice on how you can support the person you’re concerned about, while keeping yourself safe.

Are you worried about someone’s relationship? For example, their relationship doesn’t feel safe or healthy, you’ve noticed changes in their behaviour or you’ve seen or heard things that don’t feel right. If youʼre worried about someone, please donʼt ignore it. Talking, listening and staying alongside them can make a real difference.
You donʼt have to have all the answers, but we can help you think things through. Step by Step delivered by Barnado's and Greater Essex authorities, offer advice and support to help you understand what is happening and how you can help your friend or family member safely.
Please be aware, we are not an emergency service. If you think someone is being harmed or in immediate danger of being harmed, call the police on 999. You can also report domestic abuse by calling 101 or report to the police online. Specially trained police officers will respond.
